2013 Competition Results

The 2013 Angry Birds AI Champion is Team Beau Rivage from EPFL, Switzerland!

The runners up are the Angry Concepts Team from the ESA, Netherlands and Team Wisc from the University of Wisconsin, USA.

Congratulations to the Winners!!!

In every round we used new Angry Birds levels of increased difficulty. In the qualification rounds, agents had 2x20 minutes to solve 10 levels. Angry-Hex and Luabab solved all qualification levels. Starting from the quarter finals, agents had 30 minutes to solve 8 levels. Since team Angry Concepts did extremely well in the semi finals and solved 7 out of 8 levels, we wanted to challenge the grand finalists and gave them 8 very difficult levels. These were levels that most humans players couldn't solve in the given time and it seems they were a bit too difficult. In the end the competition was decided because team Beau Rivage solved one level, while team Angry Concepts didn't solve any level.

The agents this year were significantly better than the agents in 2012. We are looking forward to an even more exciting 2014 competition and hope to see many more improved agents next year.
